This Harlem townhouse garden was transformed into a vibrant, multi-functional retreat for a client who loves bold color and lively entertaining. With an industrial building looming behind, the design focused on adding warmth, softness, and personality.

A custom pergola with a gently sloped roof was designed to elevate the space—and visually minimize the backdrop. A newly built deck creates a welcoming entry, now bursting with seasonal color from container plantings. The garden features distinct zones for lounging and dining, anchored by built-in planters and generous seating. The white vinyl fence was refreshed with a custom paint finish, and synthetic grass with stepping stones reinstalled to bring a playful yet polished feel underfoot.
