Borough Park Modern Rooftop

This large-scale rooftop transformation by Little Miracles Designs unfolded over the course of a year, converting two expansive roof levels into a series of seamlessly integrated outdoor “rooms.” At its heart is a striking glass bulkhead topped with a green roof—designed as a private office retreat for the homeowner.

On the lower level, a full-width outdoor kitchen spares no luxury, featuring a refrigerator, dishwasher, warming drawer, pizza oven, and premium grill. Sculptural Corten steel planters, folded like origami, define each zone while guiding the flow of movement from one experience to the next.

A sunken garden with year-round interest is set into the raised porcelain tile floor, while a staircase made of transparent subway grating floats above lush plantings and leads to the upper level. Here, a clean circular layout centers around a raised Corten planter with a floating Ipe bench and concealed LED lighting. The circle evolves into a cascading water feature—masking the city’s hum with the calming sound of falling water.

A final architectural flourish: a vertical fireplace with a planted top, merging function and greenery in an unexpected way. With too many details to name, this rooftop is best experienced through the photos—each one revealing a new facet of this elevated urban escape.
